Duck Dynasty! Oregon Shoots Up College Football Rankings in Saturday Blitz Week 2 Top 25

3 of 6

6. Alabama Crimson Tide- Def. Florida Atlantic 41-0

In two weeks, Alabama has passed more of an eye test than Florida State, and they appear to be in pretty good position at quarterback now. But the Tide haven’t beaten anybody noteworthy enough to vault them ahead of any of the Top 5 teams on this list yet. And struggling agains West Virginia still wasn’t a good look in Week 1.

7. Florida State Seminoles- Def. The Citadel 37-12 (2-0, Last Week’s Position: No. 2)

The Florida State Seminoles haven’t earned a Top 5 spot so far. Struggling with Oklahoma State and then playing The Citadel doesn’t compare to the impressive wins the other teams on this list have. But they are still a top 5 team in terms of talent, and there will be plenty of chances to move up as time goes on.

8. Virginia Tech Hokies- Def. Ohio State 35-21 (2-0, Last Week’s Position: NR)

Virginia Tech maybe should be higher. A huge quality win against Ohio State Saturday has people talking about the ACC as a better conference than the Big Ten. And the Hokies beat the Buckeyes pretty easily as well. Beamer Ball is back in Virginia, and the rest of the college football world needs to take notice.

9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish- Def. Michigan 31-0 (2-0, Last Week’s Position: NR)

The Irish showed they aren’t going anywhere and are still in great shape with Brian Kelly after their 31-0 win over Michigan last week. So maybe the Wolverines aren’t as good as we thought. Notre Dame simply dominated the game, especially on defense, and they look like they might return to the national title hunt a year early.

10. Auburn Tigers- Def. San Jose State 59-13 (2-0, Last Week’s Position: No. 6)

The Tigers look as good as they ever did last year and could easily move up this list in the future, but for right now they don’t have the quality victories anybody else has on the schedule. Arkansas is alright, and San Jose State might be decent, but there’s not a quality win on the schedule to vault them up the list yet.
