11: Washington State (0-2) DOWN 2
So far, the season has been hugely disappointing for Mike Leach and company. Last week I called them out in “Pac-12 Roundup” for their inability to run the ball in a loss to Rutgers. On Saturday in Reno, the Cougars’ running game actually got even worse.
For the 2nd week in a row, WSU out-gained their opponent by a considerable margin, but for the 2nd week in a row, the Cougars lost because they couldn’t control the ball or the clock.
Mike Leach knows he has to run the ball for his Air Raid to ultimately be successful. But two games into the season, Washington State is the second worst rushing team in the entire FBS, averaging an incredible 22 yards PER GAME. This has to improve drastically or the wheels could come off WSU’s season in a hurry.
