Saturday Blitz Big Ten Power Rankings Week 2

8. Nebraska Cornhuskers 2-0 (0-0), Defeated McNeese State 31-24

The Nebraska Cornhuskers nearly embarrassed themselves worse than any other team in the Big Ten Saturday after almost losing to McNeese State. This isn’t an FCS team that is supposed to be good enough to compete with any FBS team, let alone one in the Top 20 who is thinking about being able to compete for a Big Ten championship.

Tommy Armstrong, Jr. looked very inaccurate against the Cowboys for the second straight week despite being able to run the ball, the defense was bad, and it took a miracle play from Ameer Abdullah to save the day for Husker Nation. The game has still opened some big questions about this team.

But a win is a win, and Nebraska is 2-0 now with everything they wanted to do still within reach. We’ll chalk this one up to simply lack of focus, especially since the Huskers looked so good last week against Florida Atlantic. With Fresno State on the slate next, we’ll find out a little bit more on this Nebraska team.

If they win that, they’ll probably move up the list.
