Saturday Blitz Week 2 ACC Power Rankings

12. Boston College Eagles 1-1 (0-1) Lost to Pittsburgh 30-20 Last Weekend

Steve Addazio’s second year with Boston College looks like it could be very similar to his second year at Temple. Both times he has a team that is much worse than the inaugural team he inherited that surprised the college football world. Only this time, he may actually stick around and show what he can do in a third year.

Still, the Eagles look like they will have a pretty big drop-off from last year’s surprising 7-6 team with so much young talent, and it started with an okay but ugly win against Massachusetts in the opening game of the season. A 10-point home loss to a Pittsburgh team that is rebuilding but also young shows that the Eagles might be in for a rough season.

The passing game has been bad two straight games now, including an awful performance by Tyler Murphy Saturday, and the rush defense might be even worse after it gave up 303 yards on the ground to Pittsburgh. The Eagles are good enough to win a few games but much worse than last year’s team.

For now, they have to remain near the bottom of the ACC.
