Vegas Pac 12 Predictions for Week 3 of the College Football Season
Saturday Blitz Vegas Pac 12 Predictions Week 3
Nevada Wolf Pack at Arizona Wildcats
Line: Arizona by 17.5
The Arizona Wildcats have looked pretty good so far in Rich Rodriguez’s third year, adding to the depth of the Pac 12. The close win at Texas-San Antonio last week is underrated when you take into account that the Roadrunners were at home and are a very dangerous mid-major team. Still, with Nevada coming to town, the Wildcats need to remain focused. Anu Solomon’s numbers dropped significantly last game, and he’ll have to be much more efficient at quarterback for the Wildcats to win Saturday. However, there is still a very strong running game with Nick Wilson, and Nevada’s rush defense can be exposed at times. Solomon completing around 70 percent of his passes, Wilson being Wilson, and the defense containing the Wolf Pack rush offense should be enough for the win.

With the First Pick
Nevada, meanwhile, will want to stick with its new dark-horse Heisman candidate Cody Fajardo. The quarterback threw for 300 yards in one game and rushed for 100 yards in another, showing how he can beat you in multiple ways. How Nevada plays on Saturday depends on what he can do. Last week he torched Washington State on the ground and kept the Mike Leach offense off the field, but Arizona is a bit of a different animal. If he does this again, then he’ll really pick up steam as a very popular mid-major player, having already taken that away from Chuckie Keeton.
Prediction
Arizona will have a hard time containing Nevada throughout the game but will still pull out the victory. It will be frustrating until the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats simply have the better team and will rely on a strong running game to get the win.
