Saturday Blitz Vegas Big 12 Predictions Week 3
Texas-San Antonio Roadunners at Oklahoma State Cowboys
Line: Oklahoma State by 13.5
The Oklahoma State Cowboys appear to be much better than everybody thought they would be this year as they break in so many new players after playing Florida State very close and beating Missouri State pretty easily. Their offense has been great both times, which shows the genius of Mike Gundy, but now they could be in trouble after quarterback J.W. Walsh got hurt. Daxx Garman did a good job filling in for him, but Texas-San Antonio is a team that plays pretty good defense for a mid-major and could cause problems. Garman will have to be very efficient, and Gundy’s defense will have to be much better as well after struggling for two straight games.
Texas-San Antonio, meanwhile, is showing how good of a mid-major team it really is. The Roadrunners impresses everybody by beating Houston so easily, a team that is considered a very legitimate AAC contender. Then they played Arizona to a 3-point game, and the Wildcats are a very good Pac 12 team. This is a team whose defense shut down the high-powered Houston offense to 7 points and held a Pac 12 offense to 26 points, which isn’t terrible. They’ll look to keep the Cowboys offense in check and hopefully force a few turnovers to make this a game.

Prediction
Texas-San Antonio is still much better than many people would have expected, but it won’t make a difference this weekend. Oklahoma State has a high-powered offense no matter who is quarterback with Gundy as head coach, and the Cowboys take control of the game pretty easily. It won’t be a huge blowout, but it will be an easy win nonetheless.
