Will Vols Upset Oklahoma? Who Wins Georgia-S. Carolina? Week 3 Vegas SEC Predictions Here
Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Predictions Week 3
Massachusetts Minutemen at Vanderbilt Commodores
Line: Vanderbilt by 15.5
Welcome back to the cellar Vandy fans. The Commodores have lost their first two games by a combined score of 78-10 and showed no visible signs of life. After 7 turnovers the first game against Temple and only mustering 167 yards of total offense against Ole Miss, this team looks awful at moving the ball, and the defense is having obvious trouble adjusting to Derek Mason’s new system. For Vanderbilt, the biggest thing to finally getting its first win as Massachusetts comes to town is limiting mistakes and relying on the run game because freshman running back Ralph Webb is the one bright spot so far, averaging more than 5 yards a carry.
Massachusetts, meanwhile, has a decent offense but a terrible defense that will have trouble stopping even the Commodores in Nashville. Fortunately, they won’t have to worry about surrendering more than 300 yards to Stephen Rivers the way they did to Colorado, so the biggest thing for them will be to stack the line and keep Vanderbilt from running the ball. If they can do that and get a few points on offense, this could turn into an upset.

Prediction
Vanderbilt will run the ball a lot but make a few mistakes in the passing game to keep this close. Still, it will play well enough for Mason to get his first win as a Commodore in an ugly, ground and pound game. Don’t turn the television onto this game if you are allergic to watching hideous football because that is exactly what this is going to be.
