The Alabama Crimson Tide are dangerous now. They appear to finally have their quarterback in Blake Sims, who plays very smart and has some mobility, which is nice. The defense also survived a big wake-up call against West Virginia, so they look like they’ll be rolling into SEC play in pretty good shape after blowing out Florida Atlantic on Saturday. But first they have to get past this Saturday. This game is another chance for Sims to solidify himself as the starter, and with Lane Kiffin as offensive coordinator, this could actually now be an exciting team to watch that doesn’t just destroy you with great defense.
Unfortunately it’s hard to see any way Southern Miss will challenge Alabama though. They barely beat Alcorn State and showed nothing decent against Mississippi State, so this team is simply not that good. What’s the key to them winning on Saturday? A miracle. Perhaps 10 miracles.

Why are we even allowing this game to be played? Southern Miss has no chance to be in this game, and Alabama will win in a horrible blowout. Fortunately, Nick Saban teams aren’t about scoring quickly and getting to 60 points, so they’ll call of the dogs early. The stadium will be empty by halftime.
