Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Predictions Week 3

Saturday Blitz Record in Big Ten Games Last Week: 8-5 (18-6)

Maybe this weekend will be different. After a devastating Week 2 in the college football world, the Big Ten nearly lost all respect in the college football world, especially among other Power Five conferences. With Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State all losing big games, there is good reason to question the conference right now.

But the Big Ten has another chance this weekend. The top teams won’t but the middle of the road teams play a bunch of big games against other Power Five conferences, particularly the Big 12. If they can get a few of these wins, which they’re more than capable of doing, then they can get some of that respect back.

The slate is not as good as last week, but there are a couple of rivalry games with Maryland-West Virginia, Purdue-Notre Dame, and Iowa-Iowa State on the slate. A few other exciting games include Minnesota-TCU and Illinois-Washington, so there is reason to be hopeful for the conference to redeem itself.

Then there is the exciting conference match-up between Penn State and Rutgers, which includes a Big Ten newcomer against a powerhouse team in a new era. The two could have a great meeting that will be like a step back in time for college football when you consider the history of where it began.

The conference has lots of exciting games this weekend and has a second chance to make a statement, which doesn’t often come. But thankfully, Big Ten teams are at least not running from competition, regardless of how bad anybody says the talent and depth of good teams is there.

So with that, here are the Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Predictions for Week 3 of the college football season. We were awful last weekend. Perhaps we’ll be better this time around.
