The Buckeyes have a lot to work on after last week’s bad loss at home to Virginia Tech. J.T. Barrett was obviously a big problem with 3 interceptions, but he got no help from his running game, and the defense allowed Michael Brewer to make big plays for the Hokies. Those all helped created a big loss for the Buckeyes. Still, this team can be very good if it corrects a few things, including limiting turnovers, a more efficient passing game, and a defense that actually comes through every once in a while when it is needed instead of always coming up short in crucial moments. This is a good week to work on all of that.
Kent State, meanwhile, simply has some serious issues on offense that it will have to get past if it wants to give Ohio State a game. Fortunately, the Buckeyes defense isn’t great, but the Kent State offense would need to torch it to make this a game. Since that isn’t likely, their only other hope is lots of turnovers.

Ohio State won’t allow this game to be close. They may still be reeling from the loss to Virginia Tech, but Kent State has nothing to be able to make this a game. Expect a very quick and easy blowout.
