Saturday Blitz Vegas ACC Predictions Week 3

Arkansas State Red Wolves at Miami Hurricanes

Line: Miami by 16.5

Miami is a much better team than it looked in its opening game against Louisville two weeks ago. The defense and running game were fine, but awful quarterback play held them back. Brad Kaaya appears to be improving, though, and if he can make a few more accurate throws, Duke Johnson is an incredible talent at running back. That’s what the ‘Canes will use this weekend to beat Arkansas State, a team that could easily win its own mid-major conference and played Tennessee pretty tough last week in the second half, especially on defense.

The Red Wolves do have mobility at quarterback and can use a quirky offense to keep themselves in games. They’ll be looking to do that this Saturday, and if Kaaya makes mistakes for Miami the way he did against Louisville, then this could turn into a very close game. Arkansas State is more than capable of pulling off the upset, so Miami had better take notice. Otherwise, they could lose in a huge shocker.

Prediction

Kaaya’s getting better at quarterback, and the defense and running game are still very good. Arkansas State could capitalize off of a couple of mistakes to keep this interesting for a few minutes, but Miami will win pretty comfortably.
