Saturday Blitz Vegas ACC Predictions Week 3

N.C. State Wolfpack at South Florida Bulls

Line: N.C. State by 1.5

Talk about two teams trying to gain back respectability this year. N.C. State has survived two scares against lowly-ranked opponents who didn’t even play in FBS two years ago, but Georgia Southern and Old Dominion are more dangerous than they’re given credit for. Escaping them to get to a 2-0 record is not a bad feat. Now, in Dave Doeren’s second year, the Wolfpack are looking to move to 3-0 this weekend in a game they’re favored in, which would match all of last year’s win-total and show signs of life in the program. That’s a lot to be excited about.

South Florida, meanwhile, probably feels it should be 2-0 after nearly shocking Maryland at home last week. But they could not capitalize off of forcing 6, that’s right, 6 turnovers. The defense showed itself to be very good and things may have changed if they didn’t have special teams errors. With the Wolfpack in town this week, South Florida will be looking to match last week’s defensive performance and avoid the offense and special teams errors.

Prediction

South Florida will put up a fight at home and against N.C. State, but they won’t get lucky and have  6 turnovers handed to them again. The Wolfpack will once again be locked in a close battle against a team that doesn’t get a lot of respect, but they’ll still get the win on the road and keep the fans happy by moving to 3-0.

N.C. State: 21 South Florida: 17
