Saturday Blitz Week 3 SEC Power Rankings

3. Alabama Crimson Tide, 3-0 (0-0), Defeated Southern Miss Golden Eagles 52-12 Last Saturday

Alabama looks much better for struggling with West Virginia given how good the Mountaineers have looked on offense since then. Nick Saban’s team is as good as ever, and now with Blake Sims appearing to settle in as the full time starter, the Tide look like, well, the Tide.

And what’s more dangerous is they’re hungry again with something to prove. After coasting by last year before getting hit with wake-up calls against Auburn, Oklahoma, and then West Virginia to start this season, Alabama is focused and appears to be determined to make amends for what happened last year. That makes this a very dangerous team that is still the best in the country from a pure talent perspective.

With Florida coming to town this week, Alabama gets a decent test, and two road games against Ole Miss and Arkansas follow which should really show if this team is as dominant as it has been in the past. Epic showdowns with Texas A&M, LSU, and Auburn in the future make this a team that we will want to watch the rest of the year.
