SEC West Dominates in Week 3 SEC Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz Week 3 SEC Power Rankings
2. LSU Tigers, 3-0 (0-0), Defeated Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 31-0 Last Saturday
Les Miles’s LSU Tigers are beginning to look a lot like LSU in the best way. They still have that great non-conference win against Wisconsin, and this team is back to winning with defense, defense, and more defense. Lots of great defense, to be exact, that dates back to the first game.
But that’s not the only reason to be excited. Anthny Jennings is settling in as the game-managing starter LSU always needs at quarterback, and while Kenny Hilliard still looks great at running back, Leonard Fournette is finally showing signs of living up to his hype. Don’t sleep on that. This is a loaded team that looks really good under the mad-hatter, and don’t forget LSU’s best trait when competing for a national championship: simply finding ways to win games.
A home game against Mississippi State this weekend will provide a good read on how good this LSU team is because that game can’t be taken lightly, and the brutal schedule begins in October with Auburn and Florida on the slate and Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Arkansas to close out the season.
