Saturday Blitz Week 3 SEC Power Rankings

8. Missouri Tigers, 3-0 (0-0), Defeated Central Florida Knights 38-10 Last Saturday

Take notice SEC. We knew Texas A&M would likely be here to stay. That now holds true for Missouri. The Tigers dominated a UCF team Saturday that gave Penn State everything it had two weeks ago, and the offense looks as good as it ever was. With so many players gone, it is shocking for the team to be this good so far, but Gary Pinkel deserves a lot of credit for the system he has in place with the Tigers.

Maty Mauk has looked very good so far and threw for 4 touchdowns last Saturday, so he seems to be stepping into James Franklin’s role just fine as of right now. Perhaps he will live up to his own expectations of being the next Johnny Manziel.

However, Missouri hasn’t played any serious competition yet. UCF is decent, but it’s nothing like what they’ll face in SEC play. With that in mind, they don’t belong in the top half of the conference just yet. We’ll find out more about this team in two weeks as they get set to travel to South Carolina.
