The first three weeks of college football appear to have taught us one thing: the SEC is loaded. The SEC West, meanwhile, is simply unbelievable.
And finally, we’re beginning a bit of conference play this week along with another exciting non-conference game. The SEC schedule is still filled with lots of games nobody cares to see, but at least it’s getting better each week. And the good news is, over the next four to five weeks, each week will be better than the previous week.
This weekend Auburn and Kansas State highlight a great Thursday night non-conference match-up that fans throughout the college football world will want to see. It’s a battle between old-school and new-school option teams. Bill Snyder vs. Gus Malzahn. Who’s going to want to miss that?

Then there’s a big match-up on Saturday with Mississippi State and LSU. The Tigers appear to be on a roll while the Bulldogs are desperately trying to prove they belong with the Big Ten elite. Don’t sleep on this game, as both teams have looked really good through three games so far.
And finally there’s the game that features the two teams who were the SEC elites of the late 2000s in Alabama and Florida, the two teams who have played in more SEC championship games than anybody else. Of course, Alabama has maintained its powerhouse status while Florida is trying to gain it back.
