The Michigan State Spartans are coming off a bye week in which they’re trying to regroup after such a bad fourth quarter against Oregon to play a large role in embarrassing the Big Ten two weeks ago. However, the loss wasn’t that bad when you consider the fact that the Spartans played Oregon tough for a while. The Ducks scoring so quickly is nothing to make a big deal out of because that’s what they always do once they get going. It could still be a close game. Also, the Spartans are still very young at linebacker, which can be a big problem when that’s a key position to stopping the spread and their second game together is against one of the most advanced spread offenses in college football.
Now, Michigan State has a chance to regroup this weekend against an Eastern Michigan Eagles team that is not very good. The Eagles have looked awful defensively so far this year and now run into a Spartans team that needs to get a rhythm going on offense. It’s also a good practice game for the MSU linebackers since EMU has hardly any offense. It’s hard to see any way they win this game outside of a miracle.
