The Temple Owls are coming off of a bye week, but at 1-1 it’s safe to say they have looked much better than anybody would have expected this early into the season. We’ve noted how bad Vanderbilt is again, but it was still impressive for Temple to blow them out on their home turf 37-17 given the state of the two programs over the past few years. The next week they played Navy close to a 7-point loss which, again given where Temple has been, is a huge sign of encouragement. Now the Owls get a breather off of their bye week in their easiest game so far this season as they go up against the Delaware State Hornets.
Delaware State is a flat-out terrible FCS program. It might as well be put out there. This is not a great test for Temple, and they gain nothing out of playing this game except one extra win in their fight to reach 6 wins and hopefully make a bowl game. There’s no reason this shouldn’t be a blowout from the start, though.
