Blitz Points Breakdown

Level of Competition: 1 point

Game Changing Plays: 1 point

Total Blitz Points: 4

Ameer Abdullah played a huge role in redeeming the Big Ten Friday after rushing for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns on 35 carries. Abdullah was asked to shoulder the load all night, and while Tommy Armstrong, Jr. played decent at quarterback, Abdullah was the one who took over the game. It was Abdullah who initially turned the game into a two-score game in the first half and then made it a three-score game in the second half.

This was a much-needed win for Nebraska, who desperately wanted to prove that they are an elite team after almost losing to McNeese State two weeks ago. They played a major role Saturday in showing that the Big Ten does still play football, and for that, Abdullah has earned Blitz Points this week. Abdullah has made a habit of coming through when he’s called upon recently, making the game-winning touchdown reception two weeks ago and now rushing for more than 200 yards twice on the year. Say what you want about Nebraska, but the Huskers are 4-0 right now and look as good as any Big Ten team.
