Nick Marshall may not have had the best numbers Thursday night, but in a road environment on a Thursday night game against a ranked, Bill Snyder-Coached team, he once again made the clutch throws when he was called upon to put the game away. With the ball and the lead by 6 late in the fourth quarter, Marshall converted a third down with a perfect pass to Duke Johnson, a receiver who already had 2 bad drops on the night. That conversion allowed the Tigers to seal the victory instead of having to give the ball back to Kansas State, allowing them to stage a comeback.

Marshall looked great all night, and his numbers should have been much better, but his receivers had too many drops. Fortunately, he and they came through when it mattered most, which appears to be the mantra for this Auburn Tigers team. In addition to that third down throw, Marshall threw a touchdown pass early in the game to give Auburn the lead after being down 7-3, and he threw another touchdown pass to extend a close Auburn lead later on. Auburn continues to find ways to win, and Marshall appears to be the catalyst.
