It looks like the Alabama Crimson Tide have found their quarterback. And they should have found him three weeks ago. Blake Sims once again showed how great he can be as he led the Crimson Tide to a blowout win and put up very impressive numbers against a very good defense. Remember that Florida’s problems have been on offense, but the defense has still been great recently. That wasn’t the case Saturday afternoon when they ran into Sims.

With the Gators up by a touchdown in the first quarter, Sims tied it up with a 79-yard pass to Amari Cooper in the first quarter. He then gave the Tide a touchdown lead in the second quarter with a touchdown pass to Jalston Fowler. He then led another touchdown drive after the Gators tied it at 21 in the third quarter. Every time Florida threatened, Sims responded. It is true that Jacob Coker came in to make it a two-score game, but Sims deserves the credit for how he kept responding to every Florida score. His 445 yards are more than AJ McCarron had in any game during his three years as the Tide starting quarterback. It looks like there’s been no drop-off at the position.
