Saturday Blitz Conference Power Rankings Week 4

2. Pac-12

If any conference has a legitimate claim to being on the same level as the SEC, even if it isn’t true, it’s the Pac 12. Yes, USC had a bad loss to Boston College, and Washington State was disappointing until it began Pac 12 play and almost beat Oregon. But the Ducks are a great team, the Trojans are much better than the team that lost to the Eagles, and you still have Stanford, Arizona State, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, and all of a sudden, Utah.

The Pac 12 is an incredibly deep conference that deserves its respect as being such. They can play football out on the west coast, and it’s entertaining. Oregon’s close game against Washington State says more about how the Cougars are getting better than it does about Oregon struggling. Colorado even looks pretty good right now, finally finding its rhythm, as does Cal, who had Arizona on the ropes and only lost due to a hail mary.

Add in Oregon State, and all of a sudden it looks like every team in this conference has a legitimate shot at making a bowl game. this is obviously what we expected from the Pac 12, but it didn’t appear that way to start the season. The incredible depth of the conference has finally started to show itself over the past two weeks.
