Saturday Blitz Conference Power Rankings Week 4
1. SEC
Obviously. We are going to start every sentence with that from now on when it comes to conference power rankings and putting the SEC at the top. What in the world has it done to prove otherwise? The SEC remains the most powerful conference in college football, and the SEC West right now looks like the toughest division in college football history.
Finally, the conference looked mortal this year after Missouri lost to Indiana, but that’s not enough to drop the conference from its well-deserved top spot in college football. Auburn’s win over Kansas State on the road in a Thursday night showdown was another major quality win for the SEC. Now, with Alabama beating West Virginia, Georgia beating Clemson, LSU beating Wisconsin, then Mississippi State beating LSU, this is a deep conference with too many good teams.
The SEC once again earns the top spot in our conference power rankings, as if this is a surprise, and it’s time to start having the debate as to whether or not two SEC teams deserve shots in the college football playoff. Perhaps they don’t but they would be the only conference that deserves it if that happens. This conference is too deep, and there’s a good chance that every team from the SEC West makes a bowl game. So watch out.
