Saturday Blitz Conference Power Rankings Week 4

5. ACC

The ACC is back down to the bottom of the Power Five after a terrible week. Two weeks ago, this conference was making a case as the No. 2 conference behind the SEC. Last week, they stayed there simply due to one big upset by Boston College over USC. Otherwise, it would have dropped to at least No. 3. This week, it was so bad in non-conference games that it has now fallen below the Big Ten in the rankings.

For starters, two Big Ten teams had wins on the road against ACC teams when Maryland and Iowa beat Syracuse and Pittsburgh respectively. But that’s not all that made the conference look bad. Virginia looks like a better team this year but still blew a huge chance to beat BYU, and North Carolina’s blowout loss at home against East Carolina was simply icing on the cake for how bad the conference looked this past weekend.

To be fair, the ACC did give us the best game in Florida State vs. Clemson, but overall there are not that many great teams in the conference. Virginia Tech proved it is overrated after two straight losses. One of them was against Georgia Tech who is undefeated, but can we really take the Yellow Jackets seriously? The obvious answer is no.
