Saturday Blitz ACC Power Rankings Week 4
4. Boston College Eagles, 3-1 (0-1), Defeated Maine Black Bears 40-10 Last Saturday
Boston College is in a rhythm. So they struggled with Maine early a week after upsetting USC. That lasted about a quarter. Then the Eagles and Steve Addazio returned to dominating their opponent with a little bit of a passing game this time.
But the rushing attack didn’t go away. The Eagles now rank 5th in the country with 336.3 rushing yards per game, and it’s all they need to pull out wins as long as Tyler Murphy can make enough good plays passing.
That loss to Pittsburgh at this point can be attributed to a bit of inexperience and the fact that Pitt does have a very good, young team. Now, the team looks like it could make serious noise in ACC play and build off of last year’s success instead of having a fall-off, which was initially expected. A home game against Colorado State this weekend is the final non-conference game for the Eagles, and then they have a chance to show how good they are with an ACC schedule.
