Saturday Blitz ACC Power Rankings Week 4

11. Miami Hurricanes, 2-2 (0-1), Lost to Nebraska Cornhuskers 41-31 Last Saturday

Things are surprisingly looking a little better for the Hurricanes after their bad loss to Nebraska over the weekend, but that’s because Brad Kaaya may have finally figured out how to throw the football. And just when he does that, the defense decides not to show up.

Miami just can’t seem to put together a complete game yet. You would have expected the Hurricanes defense to provide Kaaya with a little support, but Ameer Abdullah made them look ridiculous. He may be a very good running back, but there is no reason on Earth that he should have torched the ‘Canes the way he did.

The positives to take from the game are that Kaaya is improving and the defense is still capable of playing well. With Duke, Georgia Tech, and Florida State still on the schedule, the Hurricanes have got to find a way to make everything come together. Al Golden is slowly turning them back into a powerhouse program, but now that he’s got some of the talent back, he has to maximize it. That hasn’t happened yet this year.
