Saturday Blitz ACC Power Rankings Week 4
7. N.C. State Wolfpack, 4-0 (0-0), Defeated Presbyterian Blue Hose 42-0 Last Saturday
It’s true that the Wolfpack haven’t played anybody worth mentioning so far, but 4-0 is 4-0, and there’s nothing anybody can do to change that. Dave Doeren’s second team has already surpassed his first team’s win total, so things could be looking up.
Still, the Wolfpack don’t look great after having to escape Old Dominion and Georgia Southern, but at least they blew out South Florida and Presbyterian after that. So who do they get for their first real test? Of course, the No. 1 Florida State Seminoles at home with Jameis Winston back and healthy.
N.C. State has a pretty good running game that has helped turn out one of the better offense in college football, and it also has a decent defense along with a good bit of luck so far. At 4-0, you could make the case that they should be higher, but the Wolfpack have got to start winning against some good teams. They have their first chance Saturday, and even if they don’t pull off the miraculous upset, Clemson, Boston College, and Louisville are the next three games, so they’ll have chances.
