Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 4

5. Ole Miss Rebels, 3-0 (1-0), Idle Last Saturday

The Ole Miss Rebels had a nice bye week this past Saturday after looking great for 10 straight quarters, all against subpar competition. They get to continue with that easy schedule this weekend against Memphis before finally beginning a brutal SEC West schedule. The Rebels look to have a complete team right now under Hugh Freeze with a very good passing game, a dominant defense, and skill players that can change any game.

All of a sudden, that win over Boise State looks like a very good win over a mid-major non-conference opponent, and this offense sure knows how to put up points. Memphis looks like it will be another decent test as well with the way the Tigers have been playing recently. The Rebels are in this No. 5 spot right now simply because they are undefeated, but it’s not based on too much merit given the fact that they haven’t beaten anybody. Georgia, South Carolina, and LSU could all make a case to be ranked above them right now, but after the next two weekends, we’ll know for sure where these teams belong.
