Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 4

3. Auburn Tigers, 3-0 (1-0), Defeated Kansas State Wildcats 20-14 Last Saturday

Take note, the Auburn Tigers aren’t going anywhere. They may not go back to the national championship, make the playoff, win the SEC, or even win the SEC West. But they’ll be right in the thick of the race throughout the season. Beating Kansas State on the road was a nice win, even if it was close. What would you expect from anybody playing on the road against a Bill Snyder-coached Top 25 team on Thursday night? The Tigers should not have been expected to blow them out, and when it was time to make the play, Nick Marshall and Gus Malzahn and that offense came through the way it always does.

Auburn also looks good now thanks to a blowout win against Arkansas to open the season. The Razorbacks all of a sudden look like a quality opponent, and nobody can take that away from the Tigers. Like South Carolina, the Tigers have two quality wins on their schedule, but unlike South Carolina, they are undefeated. Auburn gets one more break to stay near the top of this list with a game against Louisiana Tech this week before the conference bloodbath begins next weekend.
