Mississippi State Shoots Up Week 4 SEC Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 4
1. Alabama Crimson Tide, 4-0 (1-0), Defeated Florida Gators 42-21 Last Saturday
Order is restored. The evil empire is back in power. And it might be scarier than ever. People may try to read too much into the fact that Alabama struggled in the first half against Florida. What’s more important to take away from that is the fact that the Tide found an offense and a quarterback. With Lane Kiffin at offensive coordinator, this team can be as scary as it’s ever been, and that showed throughout the second half Saturday against what is supposed to be a very good Florida Gators defense.
The Gators are still a decent team, and Alabama’s win against West Virginia to open the season looks better than initially thought. And the way Alabama has dominated its last three games, it passes every eye test to be back on top in our SEC Power Rankings. The Tide are simply loaded all over the field, and while the defense may not be as good as it’s been the past three years, it is still incredible and can’t be taken lightly. And the offense appears to have taken a step up, so they look to have sacrificed a bit on defense to gain a lot on offense. With a bye week this Saturday, watch out for how good this team could be when it plays Ole Miss next Saturday.
