Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 4

11. Kentucky Wildcats, 2-1 (0-0), Idle Last Saturday

The Wildcats didn’t do anything to move up or down this list, but luckily for them they moved up thanks to Missouri’s loss. Kentucky has a lot to be excited about going forward after playing Florida so tough in their conference opener two Saturdays ago, and it came on the heels of two blowout wins. The defense, in typical SEC fashion, looks like it’s the catalyst right now for this team, allowinf only 17.7 points per game. Add in the fact that they have a top 20 passing game in the country right now with Patrick Towles at quarterback, and the Wildcats have the ingredients to stay in games throughout the year: defense and good quarterback play.

Mark Stoops is clearly building something in Lexington. A Saturday afternoon game against Vanderbilt gives this team a great chance to move to 3-1 and really make some noise before the brutal SEC slate really begins to take off.
