Mississippi State Shoots Up Week 4 SEC Power Rankings
Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 4
8. Georgia Bulldogs, 2-1 (0-1), Defeated Troy Trojans 66-0 Last Saturday
The Bulldogs were able to take all of their anger at losing to South Carolina out on Troy. This team knows it should be 3-0 right now and one of the Top three teams in the conference, but that loss has dropped them to No. 8. Still, the defense looks great, Todd Gurley is still a Heisman candidate, quarterback play is fine, and the Dawgs are in great position to still accomplish everything they wanted to accomplish at the beginning of the year. All they need are a few breaks.
Mark Richt’s teams may often lose games they’re not supposed to, but they also have a great habit of bouncing back. A home game against Tennessee this weekend is where it starts, and Georgia can’t take this game lightly. The Vols are slowly getting better and more experienced, and they’ll be licking their chops for an upset win on the road against a team they’ve come very close to beating each of the past three years. A win Saturday, though, gets the Dawgs back on track, and after Tennessee they have Vanderbilt, Missouri, Arkansas, Florida, and Kentucky as their next five games, so they should be 8-1 going into a major showdown with Auburn.
