Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 4

11. Colorado Buffaloes, 2-2 (0-1), Defeated Hawaii Rainbow Warriors 21-12 Last Saturday

You could make a case for the Buffaloes being last in our power rankings, but let’s go ahead and put it out there that they beat Hawaii by a more comfortable margin than Washington or Oregon State did, if that means anything, and they haven’t been blown out yet this year.

Yes, the opening loss to Colorado State was bad since they blew a pretty good lead in the second half, but the close win over Massachusetts was nice, and they gave Arizona State a decent game. Beating Hawaii could hint that this team is closer to turning things around than we initially thought.

Colorado really has a chance to prove how good it  is with a road game against a surprisingly good Cal team this weekend and then a home game against Oregon State next weekend. The passing game of the Buffaloes this year hints that they could pull off the upset, but they need to turn that into more points, and the defense has to do a better job of showing up in crucial moments. That’s been a problem all year, and it cost them the first game against Colorado State.
