Saturday Blitz Blitz Points Winners Week 5

2. Edward Pope, Wide Receiver, Texas A&M Aggies (Defeated Arkansas Razorbacks 35-28 in Overtime)-4 Receptions for 151 Yards and 2 Touchdowns

While Kenny Hill certainly deserves lots of credit for leading such a great comeback against Texas A&M on Saturday, the guy picking up lots of yards as his top receiver also deserves a good bit of credit. Edward Pope started the comeback with an 86-yard touchdown reception from Hill to make the game 28-21, but that wasn’t even the most impressive play he made.

In the first half, Pope had a diving grab for an 8-yard touchdown that was one of the hardest catches anybody could have made. Hill showed his incredible faith in Pope to make plays for him with that throw, which was over two defenders and nearly an impossible catch to make. That makes for two huge plays he had in the game at receiver.

Pope only had 4 catches but racked up 151 with it and came through in huge moments. As great as Hill was late, his numbers aren’t the same without Pope catching those passes, so for that he also deserves to be a Blitz Points winner.
