Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 5

4. Texas A&M Aggies, 5-0 (2-0), Defeated Arkansas Razorbacks 35-28 in Overtime Last Saturday

Texas A&M finally picked up another good win against Arkansas on Saturday, but now the opening game blowout against South Carolina doesn’t look nearly as good as it did a week ago. Because of that, we can’t put them on the level with the other three teams in the conference for right now.

The offense still looks great with a quarterback in Kenny Hill who has now proven that he not only has talent and accuracy but also is clutch. That’s huge for this team going forward, as it’s already 2-0 in the SEC and could be launched into the driver’s seat of the SEC West race with a win Saturday. What’s more impressive is the Aggies defense showed up at the end on Saturday and managed to stop a very strong Arkansas rushing attack. That’s a big improvement over last year’s team.

With a possibly better quarterback and definitely a better defense, this team could end up being much better than it was last year. It’s looked that way so far, and they have a chance to prove more about themselves with a huge game against Mississippi State on Saturday.
