Saturday Blitz Big Ten Power Rankings Week 5

10. Indiana Hoosiers, 2-2 (0-1), Lost to Maryland Terrapins 37-15 Last Saturday

While Penn State pulled off the king of foolery, Indiana still did a pretty good job of fooling us themselves. And they’ve done it for three weeks. The Hoosiers first made us think that loss to Bowling Green was the fluke after they upset Missouri last week. But then they made us reverse course again and think that the win against Missouri was a fluke after getting blown out at home by Maryland.

Which one is it? This is starting to be weird, and for right now, we have to go with the fact that Indiana pulled out a lucky win against a Missouri team that didn’t take them seriously. The defense, similar to Illinois, looks bad just like it did the past few years, and while the offense is decent, especially on the ground, Nate Sudfeld has been an incredible disappointment so far at quarterback this year. He was going to be needed, and he hasn’t come through.

But our analysis could change in two weeks with a game against Iowa. Heck, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though. With the inconsistency this team has shown, it could lose to North Texas.
