Miami, Clemson Rise in Week 5 ACC Power Rankings
In case you were wondering, the ACC is back to what it’s always been: an incredible level of mediocrity helped out by a couple of really good teams. Well, one for sure, to be exact.
But the rest of the conference is up for grabs, and while there aren’t a lot of powerhouse teams in the conference, there is definitely a lot of depth. All 14 teams probably think they have a shot at a bowl team, and for 13 of them, that shot is legitimate. But with so much parity, this is probably the hardest conference to distinguish the difference among teams in.

What do you do when Boston College has beaten USC but lost to Pittsburgh and Colorado, Pittsburgh has then lost to Iowa and Akron, Virginia Tech beat Ohio State but lost to ECU and Georgia Tech, and Louisville lost to Virginia but beat Miami, who then beat Duke? It’s really hard now because nine teams are on the “good” level, and another three are on the decent level.
Of course, one is on the “great” level, and we know who that is, but there’s another team on this list that could fight its way into the “great” level in a shocking way if it keeps playing the way it’s been playing. But that’s not something that is to be expected. Still, it’s worth taking a look at.
And with six games this weekend, all conference games, we’ll be able to find out a lot more about each team. So with that in mind, here are our Week 5 ACC Power Rankings.
