Should Oklahoma St. and TCU Join Oklahoma and Baylor? Week 5 Big 12 Power Rankings Here.
The Big 12 elite club might have a couple of new members. It’s possibly too early to tell, but as we go forward with our Week 5 Big 12 Power Rankings, there are two teams, maybe three, who have definitely played well enough so far this year to mount a challenge to the initial idea that this was a two-horse race.
As this one-true champion thing really takes off this week, with all 10 teams playing each other, we will get to really distinguish where certain teams belong. Right now, the bottom, elite, good, and middle of the pack to below average teams are clear with some exceptions. But separating the teams in different tiers might be a bit tricky.

With the First Pick
Fortunately, the Big 12 has only 10 teams, so when you have that many tiers, it’s still a lot easier to separate the teams than it is in, say, the ACC, where there’s just a jumbled pack of decent teams. But there are still some questions as to where everybody belongs in the conference right now.
The Big 12 could be adding teams to the mix in the fight to get to the College Football Playoff, so don’t sleep on this conference just yet. There are quite a few good teams for the smallest of all the Power Five conferences, and for the rest of the year none of them have anything but conference games.
And with a little more confidence than our ACC or Big Ten Power Rankings, here are our Big 12 Power Rankings for Week 5 of the College Football Season.
