Iowa State Cyclones at No. 21 Oklahoma State CowboysÂ
The Oklahoma State Cowboys are looking to continue building off the respect they gained after playing Florida State to a 6-point loss and then beating Texas Tech. This team is clearly a great offensive team that might be worthy of consideration among Big 12 championship contenders. Daxx Garman has done a tremendous job replacing J.W. Walsh, and Mike Gundy simply needs to keep using him against a very suspect Iowa State pass defense.
Iowa State, on the other hand, has a very weak secondary that will have to find a way to step up against Garman if it wants to pull off the upset. The Cyclones have a decent bit of talent, but quarterback Sam B. Richardson will have to somehow find a way to make plays throughout the game. They will also have to find a way to force a few Oklahoma State turnovers to have a chance. Don’t forget that this is the team that ruined Oklahoma State’s shot at a national title in 2011. A national title may not be in the works this year, but a lot of other things could be. Iowa State needs a lot of breaks to repeat the 2011 upset.
