Virginia Tech Hokies at North Carolina Tar Heels
This is big ACC match between two schools who have disappointed their fans so far to this point and would like to get back on track. A win Saturday would help either team while a loss would only make things a lot worse.
Virginia Tech managed to tease fans after beating Ohio State in Week 2 of the season, but now it has fallen to 3-2 after losses to East Carolina and Georgia Tech. For the Hokies, Michael Brewer is a guy who can play very well at quarterback, but the key is him not making mistakes. Brewer has far too many turnovers on the year, and that’s what has cost the Hokies an undefeated record. They could easily be 5-0 otherwise, and to win on Saturday, Brewer has to show significant improvement in taking care of the football.
It’s a completely different animal for North Carolina. The Tar Heels can put up points. But they now need to actually stop people. The secondary is awful, but it has a chance to make plays against a mistake-prone quarterback Saturday afternoon. If it can’t do that, then this game will be over quickly. That’s their only chance of winning.
