Saturday Blitz Week 6 Big Ten Power Rankings

So much for counting out Northwestern. They must simply hate analysts and want to do the exact opposite of what people say they are going to do. That’s just annoying. Pat Fitzgerald’s team doesn’t just look a lot better for winning, but the loss to Cal doesn’t look as bad anymore either with the way the Golden Bears have been playing.

The Wildcats have shown that they have a defense over the past two weeks, especially in the secondary. That is what the Wildcats will want to focus on going forward, and it’s also what did them in with their first 2 losses. This team goes as the defense goes.

There are two more rush-heavy defenses on the schedule in Nebraska and Minnesota, and Iowa and Notre Dame are on down the road for this team. Don’t sleep on these guys, because right now they’re first in the Big Ten West at 2-0 in the conference.

And Fitzgerald’s outlook is a lot better than it was two weeks ago.
