Saturday Blitz Week 6 Big Ten Power Rankings

Nebraska had its first loss on the season but still deserves respect. This team fought its way back against Michigan State and almost had a chance to pull out the win, which would have forced us to recognize this team as a legitimate power. Still, they don’t deserve to fall to far in our rankings.

The Huskers are back to playing Nebraska football with a great running game in a semi-option offense. Ameer Abdullah is a superstar at the position, and Tommy Armstrong, Jr. is good enough at quarterback to beat you through the air and on the ground. This is a great offense, and the Bo Pelini-coached defense is only getting better. The team as a whole is as complete as it has been since Pelini got there, and they showed us they were legitimate against Michigan State.

Now, with a bye week this weekend, a trip to Northwestern next weekend can’t be overlooked, but if they pull out that win, then Rutgers and Purdue at home are two probable wins. Closing out the year against Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa means this team could easily go 11-1.

In general, there is no reason Bo Pelini should not break that 4-loss funk this year that he’s had every year since arriving at Nebraska.
