Saturday Blitz Week 6 Big Ten Power Rankings

This may seem a little high for a team who just got blown out at home by Ohio State and has quarterback issues. But the Terps were a bad match-up for Ohio State to begin with since they are going to rely on beating Big Ten teams with skill guys, the same way Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes do with just better skill guys. They are going to be fine going forward.

C.J. Brown and Caleb Rowe both bring something to the table for the Terps at quarterback, and they can really throw a defense off when one comes in as a substitute in a game. The skill players for this Terps team can’t be ignored with Stefon Diggs, Deon Long, Wes Brown, Brandon Ross, and Marcus Leak. The defense, unfortunately, is decimated by injuries, but cornerback Will Likely could be a potential Heisman candidate if he keeps making plays and avoids struggling the way he did Saturday.

This team should still have 8 wins as a goal going forward, although losing to West Virginia at home put them a bit behind. But after a bye this weekend, Iowa should be a win at home, and Penn State, Michigan, and Rutgers are all winnable games. Don’t sleep on an upset in Madison when the Terps play Wisconsin either.

Getting to 4 wins before the bye is still a relief for the Terps, but the rest of the slate is against teams that will likely go bowling except for Michigan, despite many of them being mediocre. So, even after six games, we still don’t know if this team goes 4-8 or 9-3. Either one could happen.
