Saturday Blitz Week 6 Pac 12 Power Rankings

USC fans should be just as angry as Stanford fans. This team should be undefeated as well, but getting caught off-guard shockingly by Boston College three weeks ago and giving up an awful Hail Mary to lose to Arizona State last Saturday have this team at 3-2 as well. But, like Stanford, these guys have played a tough schedule and are good enough to be above some 4-1 teams, and they should be above the Cardinal since they beat them.

USC’s defense, though, needs to be ashamed of itself. This group let the Eagles run all over them in the first loss, and then the secondary gave up two touchdowns in 3 minutes to Arizona State. The Sun Devils’ Hail Mary never would have happened if the defense had played football 101 and done the easiest thing in football, knock it down. Cody Kessler has done his job at quarterback, so it’s bad that Steve Sarkisian’s squad is not undefeated right now.

Technically, the Trojans don’t have control of their own destiny, but in reality they do when you consider that Arizona State will likely lose again. This team is good enough to beat everybody left on its schedule, but the toughest test is this weekend at Arizona.

USC has plenty of chances to move up this list, and they’re good enough to do so, but they’ve got to play better, just like Stanford.
