Saturday Blitz Week 6 Pac 12 Power Rankings

Arizona State is back in the upper portion of our Pac 12 Power Rankings thanks to 3 minutes with a backup quarterback. What the Sun Devils did against USC, a week after their embarrassing 62-27 loss to Arizona State, was simply remarkable. Perhaps this team is pretty good after all.

Mike Bercovici earned lots of respect at quarterback after throwing for more than 500 yards with this team, but Jaelen Strong is clearly a superstar at receiver after 202 yards last Saturday and coming down with the Hail Mary to win the game. This is an incredible offense that could keep this team in competition for the Pac 12 South title all year, but the defense needs to do enough. They just need to give the offense chances to win the game, and that means not giving up 62 points.

With Stanford, Washington, and Utah next, the Sun Devils, like the rest of the conference, will be looking to prove themselves further over the next few weeks. They are obviously a great team, but whether or not they can stay in the Top 25 with a tough Pac 12 schedule remains to be seen.

For right now, though, we’re back to giving them respect.
