Saturday Blitz Week 6 Big 12 Power Rankings
Baylor continued its streak on Saturday of beating up on teams who are simply not that good. They are a great team, but we can’t give them too much credit for winning with such a pathetic out of conference schedule and then opening Big 12 play against Iowa State and Texas. Making it to 5-0 was given to them on a platter.
To be fair, the Bears have looked great in the process. Bryce Petty is back to looking like a Heisman candidate, and with Shock Linwood and Johnny Jefferson adding a high-powered rushing attack to the offense, and with KD Cannon stepping up as a superstar receiver, this is a loaded offense that is now No. 1 in the country in scoring with 51 points per game. The defense has also stepped up, ranking No. 5 in the country with only 12 points per game given up.
The Bears finally get a chance to prove themselves this week with a huge game against TCU. That will determine if this team has been deserving of all the hype it has received so far this year. A win Saturday will solidify this team as the top team in the Big 12, but a loss will raise quite a few questions about these guys.
Currently, this looks like a great team against inferior competition. Now, it’s time to find out if they are the real deal.
