The Minnesota Golden Gophers have gotten off to a nice start this season. Despite a 30-7 loss to the TCU Horned Frogs (who have since beat the Oklahoma Sooners and are ranked in the top 10), they are 4-1 and are coming off a victory over the Michigan Wolverines.
Now, the Golden Gophers got a big win on the recruiting trail – 3-Star cornerback Antonio Shenault gave his pledge to the Golden Gophers on Thursday.
The 5’11, 175-pounder is from Roselle, Illinois and attends Lake Park High School.
Shenault is ranked as the country’s 122nd-best cornerback prospect, the 32nd-best prospect in the state of Illinois and the 1,430th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Shenault chose the Golden Gophers over offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Iowa State and Miami (Ohio), among others.
Shenault is the 14th verbal commitment for the Golden Gophers in the class of 2015.
