Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Predictions Week 7

No. 3 Ole Miss Rebels at No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies

Line: Texas A&M by 2

In addition to Mississippi State-Auburn, this game is another part of Round Two of epic SEC match-ups. Obviously, coming off of a huge victory against Alabama, Ole Miss proved two things: their defense is legitimate, and Bo Wallace can come up huge when the lights are the biggest. Now, going up against Texas A&M, the Rebels will be looking to do the same thing. But this week, they need to focus more heavily on the running game in Jaylen Walton and I’Tavius Mathers to get the win. Texas A&M is pretty good against the pass, but it’s defending the run that’s a huge problem, so Hugh Freeze should switch up his game plan this week. The defense needs to be opportunistic, just like last week, to get the win. They need to force Kenny Hill into turning the ball over some more. Maybe Senquez Golson can come down with another huge interception.

Texas A&M, meanwhile, needs to first keep an eye out for the Ole Miss running game but focus on defending Wallace. The pass defense is good, and there’s no reason to neutralize your strength when it can stop the other team’s strength. The Aggies will want to try to force Wallace to turn the ball over, and they are going to want to keep LaQuon Treadwell and Cody Core from doing anything. The rush defense isn’t great, but that shouldn’t be a problem with Ole Miss’s inability to run the ball. All Texas A&M needs to worry about is making sure the pass defense is what it’s supposed to be and they keep an eye on Ole Miss trying to run the ball every now and them. Meanwhile, Kenny Hill simply need to play his game on offense, but he can’t turn the ball over this time. If he doesn’t have 3 interceptions, the Aggies should win this game.

Prediction

We would like to formally apologize for picking against both Mississippi schools and being proven wrong last week. We would also like to apologize for the fact that we’re going to do it again this week. After already picking against Mississippi State against Auburn, we’re rolling with the Aggies to rebound from a bad loss last week to the Bulldogs. This week, they get Ole Miss at home, and the Rebels simply have no running game, which is what you need to torch the Aggies the way Mississippi State and Arkansas did. Without it, Texas A&M has the personnel to shut you down. And that’s exactly what will happen. Meanwhile, Kenny “Trill” will be back and avoid 3 interceptions, this time increasing his touchdown totals as well in the game. The match-ups favor Texas A&M, and they’ll have a solid victory in the process.
