Chattanooga Mocs at Tennessee Volunteers
This is honestly a depressing game in Knoxville. The Vols thought they had a legitimate shot at finally ending the streak against Florida last week, and to lose the way they did only makes things more painful. Now they have to regroup and get some momentum back. To do that, the offensive line needs to grow up quicker. The defense has been fine all year, and the offense has great skill players, but the line is going to have to do a better job winning in the trenches. If not, it could look like the Vols took a step back this year instead of a step forward, which is not what the program wants. Justin Worley has been fine at quarterback. But if the line doesn’t improve, even Chattanooga could pull off an upset.
The Mocs have looked great in FCS games and should be 4-0, so this team could be a lot tougher than Vols fans would like to see. Getting pressure on Worley is what they’ll want to do to try to pull out the victory, and it’s not like they won’t be able to do that. They should focus on using their front line to do it against Tennessee’s inexperienced offensive line, possibly using complex rushing schemes. That way, they can drop other people back. The Mocs defense is going to have to be what gives them an ever-so-unlikely chance at an upset.
