Saturday Blitz Blitz Points Winner Week 7

Like I said, you’ve got to love those defensive guys. Cody Prewitt was definite impact player over the weekend, as he was the one who broke this game open. Ole Miss was already up 14-0, but Texas A&M had the ball, and we all know how quickly they can score.

But the senior leader for the secondary made sure to put the game away right there, coming down with an interception of a pass that Kenny Hill overthrew. Prewitt then proceeded to play like a running back or a kick returner and followed his blockers, making a couple of shifty moves of his own, all the way down the field for a 75-yard interception return to turn an Ole Miss lead into an Ole Miss blowout. This is part of why the Rebels have the best defense in college football right now.

The Ole Miss secondary is loaded with guys like Senquez Golson, who is also a playmaker, but Prewitt is the leader of the group. And when he was needed most, he came through again. It doesn’t hurt to mention that he also had 7 tackles, which is good if you’re a safety. So he deserves a lot of credit for Saturday, and thanks to his performance, he’s a well-deserved Blitz Points Winner on our list for this past weekend. And he’s a big reason for this dominant Ole Miss defense.
